About Liana


Liana has spent the past 20 years working in the health care and public health sectors in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. From overseeing operations at Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island, to serving enterprise accounts at athenahealth, Liana has developed expertise in strategy, operations and systems. Additionally, her service on non-profit boards has augmented her expertise in organizational governance and communications.

Since 2019, Liana has served as a Rhode Island State Representative for Barrington  and East Providence. She is a member of the House Committee on Health Education and Welfare and the House Committee on Small Business.

She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Boston University and an MBA from Simmons College. Liana is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. After graduating from college, she served as a Community Development Worker for Peace Corps – Costa Rica. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Health & Justice Transformation in Providence, RI.
